“We ask ‘will the press write about it?’”

-  Rob Reilly, CP+B partner/ECD (via BW). I’d say they’re nailing the end goal considering the media seems to be in the palm of their hands right now.

CP+B auctions off interns on eBay

“RT @bogusky We’re auctioning off our intern’s brilliant minds this summer. They get all the money…http://tinyurl.com/p6s8d”

Yeah, they’re a little overexposued. Some ad folk love to hate, but for an agency who defines advertising as “anything that makes our clients famous,” stuff like this proves they’re living up to their own standard.

Targets have been established

Today I wrote down a list of ten agencies that I’d love to break my way into.

All of them are full-service shops, with equally-strong traditional and digital creative portfolios.

Most of them are small independents, but they all operate like one. Agile. Scrappy. Smart.

Only three of them have partner names on the door.

Two are back home in Minneapolis.

And one has an office that wouldn’t look too out of place in Alice in Wonderland.

Thanks to Boone Oakley, ad agency self-promo websites all look a little less impressive after today. Click through this link for the full interactive video experience.

Question to ponder: Are creative communications entering an age of meritocracy, where agencies will win business on the basis of their latest ideas, rather than a shop’s size or location?
