“I’ll take my news visually, thank you.” Newsmap is a nifty visual news aggregator I just discovered. It’s a great way to make information more digestible (but still second to not taking in any news at all!) One man’s unusable idea is another man’s creative gold. This new site aims to be the first destination for recycling — by way of submitting or discovering — ideas that didn’t quite go anywhere. (via @luckthelady) Here’s one for the wordsmiths. Oxford Dictionary launched this site for exploring the more than 5,000 words in the various languages of the world that are in danger of being removed from the dictionary. Visitors can “adopt a word” in a pledge to learn and use it, and “spread the word,” to help keep it alive. Nice idea. Nice interface. And nice wordplay. Powered by Google Street View technology, Google Art Project allows you to virtually tour some of the world’s most renowned art museums and galleries. Unfortunately, the Amsterdam hash is not part of the Van Gough Museum experience. |
