Visually-electric video for “The Reeling,” the lead single off the debut LP of budding indie band Passion Pit. I love the collage effect. The entire style has a decidedly 80s feel.

I’ve made it no secret here that I’m a huge lover of album art. Which is why this Blue Note-inspired Wu-Tang cover remix project tickles my fancy. (via)

Just noticed MTV’s undergone a global brand refresh. The original logo is back, now housed in a little white box. But the real thing of note is a series of crazy cool promos based on an idea of “pop x 1000%” from Universal Everything. Check out the whole shebang here.

No word on whether they’re going to rethink their shitty programming.

What do you get when you mash up Dwight Shrute, Lil’ Wayne and The Office theme instrumental? Somehow, a pretty fitting remix.

Craig Finn recently described the new THS album as “less anthemic” than their previous efforts. Could’ve fooled me, but if it sounds like this I could care less.

The Hold Steady - The Weekenders
(Heaven Is Whenever)

Dickensian fishmongers by day, Springsteenian power-balladeers by night, the Hold Steady are back to entertain and delight with their nostalgia-drenched suburban fairytales.  Pour yourself a drink and get your pumpin’-fist ready.
